Blackboard 9 Known Issues

Blackboard 9 Known Issues and Work Arounds
Area Issue Resolution/Work Around
General Issues with Internet Explorer 8 and Blackboard Using Internet Explorer 8 with Blackboard will cause problems for students attempting to submit tests or use the file upload feature. To avoid these issues it is suggested to use Mozilla Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html or change to the “compatibility mode” in IE8 (Tools > Compatibility View Settings > Check 'Display all websites in Compatibility View' > Close. You will need to close IE8 and reopen the browser before the change takes effect.)
General When in the Contact area the breadcrumb trail shows "Resources" and "Assessment Tools Workshop Presentation" - neither of these links are located in the course. When users click on the breadcrumb they are taken to those areas located in the Blackboard Faculty Forum. No known workaround - pending Blackboard solution.
General Color choices do not “apply” in the content area. No known workaround - pending Blackboard solution.
General Some notification modules are not synchronized to real time. No known workaround - pending Blackboard solution.
Announcements Instructors using a non-English language set may not be able to create a new Announcement and receive an error message when setting dates. Make sure your Start and End dates are correct.
Discussion Board Student replies do not appear when posted via email. Pending Blackboard solution. Do not reply through email.
Discussion Board Content added by students using the html view (i.e., code to embed a YouTube video) does not display. The instructor, however, is able to do so without problem. No known workaround - pending Blackboard solution.
Faculty Information When trying to separate paragraphs in the Notes area of the Contact information the text appears fine except when you hit submit there are no paragraph separations. Enhancement request has been submitted to Blackboard. Currently you are only able to add plain text in the Notes area.
Visual Text Box Editor Text generated in the Text Box Editor does not keep the formatting. No known workaround - pending Blackboard solution.
