Digital Campus holds several Blackboard training courses throughout the year. Scan the list of dates to find a course that fits your schedule. The courses are described below. Once you have located a course you wish to take, register for the course by going to the Technology Training Registration page.

Descriptions of Faculty Development Courses

Blackboard Start-up
This class is designed to help faculty/staff get started developing their web-enhanced courses. It will cover the basics of the Blackboard system, including setting up your course, using the Control Panel, uploading course documents and basic Gradebook features.

Blackboard Assessment Tools
This class is designed to help faculty/staff create online tests and surveys. It also covers using the Gradebook, Assignment Manager, and Turnitin Assignment features.

Blackboard Communication Tools
This class is designed to help faculty/staff utilize Blackboard's e-mail, Virtual Classroom, Discussion Board, and Group features in their courses.

Blackboard and Universal Design
Learn how to apply Universal Design principles while building your course in Blackboard. These simple principles will help you make your class accessible for all your students. 

Courses Designed to Enhance Blackboard

Accessible PowerPoint with LecShare
LecShare Pro allows users to easily create an accessible PowerPoint presentation. This program checks PPT presentations to make sure that they are structured for accessibility, converts them to accessible HTML, Podcasts, QuickTime movies as well as word documents for handouts. Best of all, you are able to add audio and captioning with this easy-to-use program.

Elluminate
Elluminate Live! is a real-time virtual classroom and collaboration environment that allows you to extend the physical boundaries of your traditional classroom or to add live discussion and dynamic interaction to your Blackboard course. This robust and interactive conferencing software enables you to create a rich learning experience for your students. The result - engaged students, enhanced learning, and improved comprehension. 

Podcasting
This workshop will walk you through the steps of creating a Podcast. You will learn how to use iTunes U in conjunction with Blackboard to publish your Podcasts so your students may download audio, graphics, and video images onto their computers. They may listen to or view this information on their desktop or copy them into their iPods or mp3 players in order to access the information anywhere.
